Four Fearless Predictions For 2012

December 29th, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips, Internet Business Tips. Tags: , , ,

It’s not quite the new year yet…

…but I wanted to get you my fearless predictions
as soon as possible so you can start moving on them
before anybody else does.

From where I sit “behind the scenes” I’ve seen some
really big changes this year.  One of the biggest changes
is how the game has changed for selling high priced
items over the Internet.

Time was when you could put up a quality sales letter
or even a video sales letter and convert people at a
2 to 3% rate.  And you can still do that for lower priced
items.

For the higher priced stuff – the really big ticket items
that you can really build your business around – the
game has changed.  (I’ll tell you more about that in
a minute…)

With all the moving parts going on in your business,
there are four areas that are changing quickly that you
absolutely should know about so that you’re on top
of the game going into the turning point year of 2012.

First, if you don’t have a Wordpress component
to your Website, you’re probably missing out on the
ease of use, the free traffic, and the other many benefits
of using the Wordpress platform.  But you also have to make
sure to keep your site backed up so that you are protected
from hackers and other threats.  Here’s how you can.

Next, whether you’re dipping your toe in the water and
adding an online component to your marketing, or you’re
an experienced marketer who is continuing to build on
your past successes, you want to make sure you have a
copy of 21 Ways To Create A Sales Stampede On The Internet
in your success library
.

Third, traffic to your website is king, like always.
Traditional businesses who are smart will be investing heavily
in their Local Search Engine Optimization to get the free,
measurable traffic from Google rather than the expensive,
unmeasured Yellow Pages traffic of years past.

And online businesses who are tired of overpaying for Facebook
and Google Adwords Pay Per Click will be smartly looking at
generating free traffic through the high ROI of Search Engine
Optimization and other channels.  Ranking at the top of Google
is still very much in style going into 2012
.

Finally, for the higher priced stuff – the really big ticket items
that you can really build your business around – the
game has changed completely.  No longer will an automated
video sales letter work to sell that high ticket item.

Smart marketers are really working with the webinar, and
moving the “free line” back by offering a ton of value up front
so that you can really get off on the right foot with your customers.
It’s a powerful trend and a game changer going into 2012.

Really it reminds me of the teleseminar explosion of the mid 2000s…
except it’s bigger, and you can deliver more value and close more
sales.

A few weeks ago I held my own training webinar that you
might have been on…but there were way too many people
who wrote me and said they missed out on this incredible
training.  So to get started on the right track in 2012,
set aside an hour with me in the next couple days and grab
pen and paper to take notes while you’re viewing experiencing
the replay of this incredible free training program where you
get a peek behind the scenes of how your business and life will
be transformed for the better this year
.

Reach for the top,
-Wally

Ride this wave to build your business in 2011

June 6th, 2011. Filed Under: Business, Internet Marketing. Tags: , , , , ,

A couple weeks ago I was bodysurfing with my friend Mark at
Clearwater beach as the sun went down. The water at the beach
was incredibly warm and welcoming. As the waves would come and
go, we were bobbing up and down talking about the great weekend
we’d just had.

Part of our conversation turned to the waves and cycles that we
were seeing in our own journey and our own business growth.

We’ve known each other for a few years, and have watched and
supported each other as the waves of good times and bad have
come and gone.

As the sun went down, I told him about a philosophy that I
follow in business and life, and a philosophy that I think
you’ll benefit from too.

It’s not something that I’ve made up or created, it’s been
around as long as time itself, and it’s important nonetheless.

The philosophy is simple and immensely rewarding when you choose
to follow it.

Going against it only results in pain, suffering, and
heartache. It’s actually amazing how simple the philosophy is
yet how much we choose to fight it sometimes.

Here it is.

Flow like water. Ride the wave.

Now you might be thinking…wait, that’s it? Go with the flow?

Yes. That’s it.

Have you ever tried to take even a small wave in the ocean head
on? You get pummeled.

Yet at the same time this small wave can carry you from far out
all the way into land without even trying. Going with the flow
is the way to get where you’re going, faster, and with less
effort.

There is a huge wave of opportunity that is cresting in 2011 –
right now – a nd in a couple days I’m going to tell you all about
how you can ride this wave for your own benefit to get where you
want to be, faster and with less effort.

Ride the wave,
-Wally

PS – There’s also the danger of getting too far ahead of a wave,
where you get spit out and tossed ahead of the wave. Trust me,
I’ve experienced this one too. This is not one of those times.
The wave I’m going to tell you about is ready to crest and
you’re in perfect position to benefit from it…

The fastest way to grow your business

June 25th, 2010. Filed Under: Business, Success Stories. Tags: , , ,

It’s getting nice and hot here in Fort Collins, and my friends and I have been getting out on the mountain bike trails quite a bit lately.

Getting out there is always a great opportunity to listen to your body and mind, and see if the universe around you can teach you a lesson or two.

For instance, a few months ago, I was riding along, and it just seemed to be really hard to get going up the hills.  I was sweating and breathing heavy, and my legs felt like they just wouldn’t get me going.

But I persisted, and geared down, and kept on cranking away.

Eventually I reached a clearing where there was a nice mellow downhill.  And I have to say, it was really great to be flowing along effortlessly at that point.

Wind to the back, pedaling along, but by then it felt like somebody else was doing the work – and I was just along for the ride.

It didn’t come easy, but eventually I got there.

It’s the same thing when you’re growing a business.

Some days, or even months, feel like you’re just slogging your way up hill.

You’re cranking and pumping and sweating, and the place you’re trying to reach never gets any closer.

And then suddenly, one day, you get to the top, the terrain changes, and all the work you’ve been doing starts paying dividends like crazy.  The wind is at your back, and it feels like people are just magnetically attracting themselves to you and what you’re offering.

The fastest way to get moving from the long, slow uphill…and get yourself on the fast track with the wind at your back is to use good old fashioned word of mouth advertising.  That’s right, the good old referral system is still number one after all these years.

Here’s the trick though.

You can ramp it up 1000s of times, if you’re doing it right.

Here’s how it works.

You build your email list, or your Facebook following, or your blog following.  Or maybe you do all three.

Then you do a joint venture promotion with one of your trusted allies, and send some people in their direction.  And then they send some people from their list in your direction in return.

It’s a win-win, and it happens all the time in the offline world.

But there’s only one of you.  And that’s a problem.  You can only be in one place at once.  You can only be on a single phone call at once.

Yet with a website sales system in place, you can be in front of thousands of people at once, all over the world, and use the tried and true method of word of mouth advertising to build your business by triple and quadruple digits – in months, instead of years.

It works for you even while you’re sleeping, and it builds your business automatically.

That’s how you get over the hump and the wind at your back.

Keep on cranking,
-Wally

PS – So let’s say you are an accountant, and you want to double your business next year.  It’s easier than you think.  But you have to know which path to take.  Here’s how to begin on the path to double your business.

PS – Let’s say you’re a plumber, or an auto repair shop, or any service business at all.  The path to double your business is waiting for you here.
