Don’t lose your valuable marketing edge
January 31st, 2012. Filed Under: Internet Business Tips. Tags: epiphany, your story
Yesterday I had a great conversation with a guy
who went from being at the top of his profession
as a surgeon to being depressed and sleeping all
day, all in a span of a couple of months.
A tragic turn in his life took him from having the
world as his oyster to being out of luck, out of
work, and not sure of what to do with his life.
Through smarts, persistence, and taking massive
action, he was able to reinvent himself and become
very successful in his information publishing
business.
You have it in yourself to do the same. Each of
us has amazing stories, and are constantly
reinventing ourselves.
It comes as no surprise to me that so many of the
people who I talk with every day have similar stories.
Something happens where you’re starting from where
you don’t want to be. Then a lightbulb comes on.
It’s almost like a voice in your head says, “If it’s
to be…it’s up to me.”
And when that voice speaks, it’s time to listen.
It also comes as no surprise to me that many of the
most successful marketers on the Internet already
have a copy of 21 Ways To Create A Sales Stampede On
The Internet in their hands.
One thing these champions of marketing and business
share is this. The continuing investment in their
knowledge and skills.
Because with the right knowledge, the right action
can be taken which will get you to where you want to
be.
Back when I was sitting in an office surrounded by
corporate drones, I had a similar epiphany. And
then I met a guy who changed everything for me.
Here’s the story:

Why Tim Tebow’s A Winner
January 10th, 2012. Filed Under: Internet Business Tips, entrepreneurship. Tags: Denver Broncos, pittsburgh steelers, Tim Tebow, winning
On Sunday night my dad called me from Ohio bursting with
excitement right after the Denver Broncos had won their
first playoff game in 6 years, and done it in spectacular
fashion.
The game was really close at the end and went into overtime.
Within 11 seconds, Tim Tebow’s Broncos won the game with
a pass over the middle and an 80 yard touchdown scamper
into the south stands of Mile High stadium.
The place burst into a roar and was shaking with excitement
and most of the world was stunned yet again by this
Tim Tebow guy.
A few weeks ago after a game, I got a simple text from a
friend of mine. All it said was, “Tebow’s a winner.”
And that’s the truth.
Tebow’s a winner because he has the mindset of a winner,
and he takes the actions of a winner.
And they’re all actions that you can take too and directly
affect your business and make it a massive success.
First of all, Tebow is enthusiastic. When you see him
starting a game, or pumping up his teamates, you can tell
that a fire burns in him.
A fire of enthusiasm has to burn in you too, in order to
keep people interested in your message and for you to be
able to push through the tough spots that inevitably
show up.
The first person who has to believe in what you have to say
is YOU…and then you can get others aboard.
Tebow’s work ethic is legendary. The guy was doing extra
sprints around the field after practice from the day he
showed up in the NFL. The other players made fun of them.
Those players aren’t around any more.
It’s the same in your business. The one thing we all have
is the same amount of is time. Use your time wisely, and
have a healthy work ethic towards your goals…
and 2012 is going to be a game changer.
Then there’s the short memory. Tebow had three really – and
I’m talking – really bad games. The guy looked like an
amateur out there. But he put it behind himself, had a
short memory, forgot about the bad games and focused forward
and had a great game.
It’s important to do the same thing in your business.
Recently there was a terrible economy.
That was then. This is now. Focus forward and get moving,
and good things happen fast.
Finally there’s Tebow’s mission. Tim Tebow views football
as a platform for something bigger than himself.
He’s always using his fame to talk about his charity work
or another cause. This too is something to apply in your
business.
After all, what is a business? Yes, it serves your
customers. But ultimately it exists to serve you, the
business owner.
And you might have causes that you believe in, a family you
want to support, or dreams to accomplish. And the mission
of your business is to make that stuff happen.
There are a number of ways I support successful
entreprenuers like you to use the Internet every day to
create the success they deserve, no matter where you
are in the business cycle.
Step your game up in 2012 and get support on your way to
the top:

Four Fearless Predictions For 2012
December 29th, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips, Internet Business Tips. Tags: 2012, build your business, free training, sales
It’s not quite the new year yet…
…but I wanted to get you my fearless predictions
as soon as possible so you can start moving on them
before anybody else does.
From where I sit “behind the scenes” I’ve seen some
really big changes this year. One of the biggest changes
is how the game has changed for selling high priced
items over the Internet.
Time was when you could put up a quality sales letter
or even a video sales letter and convert people at a
2 to 3% rate. And you can still do that for lower priced
items.
For the higher priced stuff – the really big ticket items
that you can really build your business around – the
game has changed. (I’ll tell you more about that in
a minute…)
With all the moving parts going on in your business,
there are four areas that are changing quickly that you
absolutely should know about so that you’re on top
of the game going into the turning point year of 2012.
First, if you don’t have a Wordpress component
to your Website, you’re probably missing out on the
ease of use, the free traffic, and the other many benefits
of using the Wordpress platform. But you also have to make
sure to keep your site backed up so that you are protected
from hackers and other threats. Here’s how you can.
Next, whether you’re dipping your toe in the water and
adding an online component to your marketing, or you’re
an experienced marketer who is continuing to build on
your past successes, you want to make sure you have a
copy of 21 Ways To Create A Sales Stampede On The Internet
in your success library.
Third, traffic to your website is king, like always.
Traditional businesses who are smart will be investing heavily
in their Local Search Engine Optimization to get the free,
measurable traffic from Google rather than the expensive,
unmeasured Yellow Pages traffic of years past.
And online businesses who are tired of overpaying for Facebook
and Google Adwords Pay Per Click will be smartly looking at
generating free traffic through the high ROI of Search Engine
Optimization and other channels. Ranking at the top of Google
is still very much in style going into 2012.
Finally, for the higher priced stuff – the really big ticket items
that you can really build your business around – the
game has changed completely. No longer will an automated
video sales letter work to sell that high ticket item.
Smart marketers are really working with the webinar, and
moving the “free line” back by offering a ton of value up front
so that you can really get off on the right foot with your customers.
It’s a powerful trend and a game changer going into 2012.
Really it reminds me of the teleseminar explosion of the mid 2000s…
except it’s bigger, and you can deliver more value and close more
sales.
A few weeks ago I held my own training webinar that you
might have been on…but there were way too many people
who wrote me and said they missed out on this incredible
training. So to get started on the right track in 2012,
set aside an hour with me in the next couple days and grab
pen and paper to take notes while you’re viewing experiencing
the replay of this incredible free training program where you
get a peek behind the scenes of how your business and life will
be transformed for the better this year.

They only work once a week
December 19th, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips, Internet Business Tips. Tags: 2012, work once a week
This morning I was out in the cold walking the dog, and as we were
headed home, a large trash truck was barreling down the road
backwards with a guy on the back guiding the driver to ensure
that he didn’t hit anything.
For some reason, it triggered a memory that I had of being a
little boy – maybe five years old, and watching the trash man
do his dirty work while sitting on the front step of our house.
After watching the guy come and go only once a week for a few weeks,
I turned to my mother and said confidently, “When I grow up, I want
to be a trash man.”
“Why?” She asked.
“Because they only work once a week!”
As far as I knew, the trash man came once a week and that was the
only day of the week he worked. He made it look easy and I thought
that I wanted to be that guy.
Little did I know about the other 4 days of the week that he was
working, or how the trash man had to make up his holiday hours
and come home smelly and filthy.
All I knew was what little I saw from the front porch.
That’s how it works a lot of times. The really good ones make it
look easy.
The guys who have spent years behind the scenes, putting in their
practice reps, investing in their education, investing in their
business to grow – by the time you come across them you think,
“Man, that looks easy as can be. I want to do that too…”
And thinking that way can be a trap. There really is no way to
get to the top of your game without investing time, energy and
resources into becoming better.
Investing in your own growth is the most important investment
you’ll ever make.
As we begin to finish up 2011, it’s important to start thinking
about how you’d like to grow in 2012.
Once you define where you’re headed, it’s easy to take the right
action. That’s what smart entrepreneurs like you have done when
they’ve invested in a few minutes to watch this video to

Life Lessons You Won’t Get In Business School
November 7th, 2011. Filed Under: Internet Business Tips, Testimonials. Tags: first steps, life lessons
The other day I was sitting in the kitchen feeding our 11 month
year old daughter, and reflecting on the amazing amount of
learning that she’s been doing in such a short time.
Every day it seems like there’s something new. The first time to
crawl, to stand up, to take a few steps. Amazingly, she’s even
feeding herself much of the time once you put food down in front
of her.
Granted, she makes a giant mess and at least half of the food
she’s trying to put into her mouth completely misses the target
and ends up on her bib, in her hair, or all over her face – but
she’s getting there.
Really there’s too many firsts to list, yet it’s amazing all the
same.
Each of us was there once, learning something new. There was a
time when doing something was really difficult and hard to do, yet
now it’s automatic for you.
Think of tying your shoes. At one time, you may have had so much
frustration built up around this simple task that you cried out
asking for velcro.
Or maybe it was riding your bike. All of these skills seemed
impossible at one point until somebody showed you how to do them,
and then you kept on trying until it worked for you.
The reason why babies and kids are such great learners is because
they have a clean slate. They focus, they believe in themselves,
and they keep on trying no matter what. They might keep on
falling down, but if they fall down 11 times they get up 12 and
then are walking.
Successful people are the same way when it comes to learning.
Successful people know that lifelong learning is the key to their
success, and it’s the one thing that every successful person I’ve
met has in common.
I’m sure that you’re successful, because you’ve made a commitment

business using the Internet. And by now you’ve seen some of the
amazing results that people just like you are getting every single
day simply by putting these powerful ideas into action.
Tomorrow, I’m going to reveal something brand new.
An incredible resource that will take your success to a whole
entirely new level.
It’s not another book or CD course, it’s something much more
interactive and exciting, and I’m looking forward to sharing it
with you tomorrow.

Three more feet
October 18th, 2011. Filed Under: Internet Business Tips, Internet Success. Tags: acres of diamonds, gold rush, Idaho Springs, three more feet
Back in the old days when I was growing up, I went to high school up
in the mountains of Idaho Springs, Colorado, an old town that was
left over from the gold rush days of the late 1800s.
We would hear a lot of old stories and legends from those times.
There were those who made it big, and those who traveled around the
world to get there – and ended up with nothing.
And then there were those fortunate few who were not lucky in the
sense of easily striking it rich, but fortunate in another way…
they had the right attitude.
There was an old story that used to be told about a guy who came to
Idaho Springs and started digging. And almost immediately after he
stuck a claim on the side of the mountain he was bringing in the
gold. Lots and lots of it too.
Enough to pay off his startup costs, and his loans from friends and
family.
As you can imagine, he’d taken a big risk and was really excited to
begin getting his just reward.
Then something happened.
The gold ran out.
He kept on drilling and drilling and drilling – doing what he knew
to work well, but he kept coming up empty. Watching his early
fortune start to go away and feeling like all his hard work was
going up in smoke, he finally gave up.
He declared the mine a bust.
He sold all his equipment and went home, thinking he was a failure.
He told anyone who would listen that the gold rush was a big waste
of time. A scam.
That’s not all. Then something else happened.
Another guy came along and bought all the used equipment, and bought
the mining claim.
The second guy was smart about it though. Along with buying the
equipment and the rights to dig in the mountain, he brought along
an expert geologist to look at the situation.
The geologist came along and said, “Whoever was here before you
didn’t understand fault lines. Look at this line here.
If my calculations are correct, you can begin drilling and
you’ll hit a gold vein in three more feet.”
The second guy started to dig.
And guess what. He pulled millions and millions of dollars in gold
right out of the mountain just like that.
The first guy had given up, convinced that the gold rush was a
complete scam. The second guy went to his grave knowing that the
gold rush was the opportunity of a lifetime.
What was the difference between the two men?
The difference wasn’t that they didn’t try hard.
They both did.
The difference wasn’t that they didn’t believe in themselves.
They both did.
The difference wasn’t even that they weren’t there for the
opportunity.
They were both in the right place and the right time.
The difference was that the second guy sought out expert guidance,
and expert opinions from someone who had been there and done that…
and the first guy didn’t. That’s it.
Maybe you’ve heard the same thing about using the Internet to grow
your business. These days the words “Internet Marketing” mean
“Scam” to a lot of people, so I understand if you’re like the first
guy thinking that there’s no way you can build your business with the
Internet.
When you’re caught in that mindset though, you’re like the first guy.
All around you there is gold in them hills, except without the right
guidance you’re going to miss out on the chance of a lifetime.
On the other hand, to the fortunate few who step up and seek expert
guidance from experts who’ve been there and done that, there’s gold
all around for the taking.
That’s why I started the Internet Sales Success coaching program
just for you:
http://wallythewebguy.com/coaching/
There’s no reason to be like the first guy, when you’re three feet
away from your own personal gold rush. Instead, you can step up
and be part of the fortunate few.
Until next time,

The “Cute Crawler” Marketing Secret
August 3rd, 2011. Filed Under: Internet Business Tips, Online Marketing. Tags: big announcement, Internet Marketing, Marketing, marketing secrets
Woke up this morning a little sore after doing a long run yesterday, and was surprised to look over to see that Melinda was placing Molly, our “almost” 9 month year old to sit next to me.
She’s developing quickly and is at the phase where she is going to crawl just about any minute now.
We’ve been anticipating it of course, seeing the changes taking place week in and week out.
What surprised me this morning though was that Sears Picture studio was anticipating it as well.
In the mail yesterday we received a postcard that says “Cute Crawler – 9 months” and has pictures of other babies that look just like her, except they are crawling.
Sears Picture studio really knows what they’re doing here, and it’s a good thing to look at it and apply in your own marketing as well.
You can discover the “cute crawler” marketing secrets by read the rest of the story here:
Here are the “Cute crawler” marketing secrets:
First, they are sending the perfect message at the right time. They know that it’s just about time to get those crawling pictures, and their mailing campaign is positioned perfectly to get in front of the parents of the 9 month year olds.
Second, they are sending to an already happy customer. It’s much easier to get repeat business than to have to prove yourself again and again.
Third, they are sending the right media type in their advertising – a postcard with other cute babies on it. Not only are they showing proof of their product by showing other cute babies…they’re combining it with the right message.
Apply these “cute crawler” marketing secrets to your business, and let me know how you’re enjoying the increase in sales.

was actually in his sixties. His health was tip top shape – but
not his Internet business’ health. The health of his Internet

Turns out he found himself abandoned by his current “web guy”

I told him “no problemo”. After performing a little website

Not enough leads for your business?
April 28th, 2011. Filed Under: Business, Internet Business Tips. Tags: Business, Facebook Strategy, Wally
It’s a common problem. Especially if you’re running a
brick and mortar business, or you’ve been stuck in “start
up” mode for what seems like eternity.
Not enough leads coming in.
Think about it. There’s a lot that has to happen for the
stars to align correctly and for you to get a sale. And
even more has to happen to get a long term, valued customer.
First the right person has to know about you.
This alone can take a loooooong time. I’ve had people who
I’ve known for more than a decade before they became great
customers.
Next the person has to like you. This means they need to
get to know you, hear from you, and believe that you’re
genuine and worthy of their time.
And then that person has to trust you. This might be the
hardest of all. Once someone is hearing from you, and
believes you’re worth your salt…they still might not
trust you.
The bar is higher than ever in today’s environment.
Knowing, liking, and trusting you are the first keys to
getting someone to work with you.
And it can take a really long time. So what to do?
Take action.
Start generating leads in every place you can. It’s a
numbers game, and you want those numbers to be full of
quality people.
The first place to look is where your competition is
missing the boat.
Greener pastures. Blue oceans. Whatever fancy term you
want to use – it’s where your competition is not, but your
customers ARE.
If you’re running an “offline” business you are in a great
position of power, and you probably don’t even know it.
You’re with me because you’re into taking the power of the
Internet and generating more business. I can all but
guarantee your competitors have no clue about the power of
the stuff I’m showing you here.
A couple days ago I told you about FB Machine from a

is this new product teaching Facebook Strategy a
“must-have”… it’s how experts keep up with this changing
front are using Facebook to grow their own businesses.

Reduce Your Facebook Related Stress
April 21st, 2011. Filed Under: Business, Internet Business Tips. Tags: Business, Wally
The other day I mentioned a study that came out recently
about how the more friends you have on Facebook, the more
stressed out you are.
This is a huge problem, because on the one hand, when
you’re growing your business it’s very important to use the
latest tools that are available and to go where your
customers are. If they’re all on Facebook and social media
all the day long, then it’s a no brainer that you should be
too.
But on the other hand, stress is a terrible thing to have.
Stress related tension can cause all sorts of illness and
maladies. Having too much stress causes your immune system
to break down, causes your productivity to suffer, and
generally is just a drag.
And the worst part is that when you’re stressed out, your
“lizard brain” – the fearful, reactionary side of your
brain that controls fight or flight mechanisms, is
activated and you can’t creatively solve problems.
This is a huge problem because not only can you not solve
problems, you’re not functioning in a way that generates
personal and business growth. Lacking creativity because
of stress makes you sick, tired, and sick and tired of
being sick and tired. That’s no fun at all.
Luckily there is an easy solution to this.
Something that is almost so simple that it’s probably
staring you in the face right now, without you even
realizing it. Something that you already know but for some
reason haven’t taken action on.
It’s this: You automate and take the load off yourself.
Free up your mind, your body, and your spirit so that you
can hang out in the creative zone, rather than being stuck
in a reactionary fight or flight mode.
Give yourself the time and space to create, rather than
minding the drudgery of your social media all day long,
staying stressed out.
It’s really important for your personal health, and for
your business health, that you get out of fight or flight
and into creative flow.
Automating your social media and Facebook in particular is
just one way to get all the benefits of marketing using
social media, while also creating the space you need to
operate at a higher level and get more done, and get
your life back.
In a couple days I’m going to tell you even more about how
you can create this mental space and stay in the zone even
longer.
Stay creative,
-Wally
PS – Automation and freeing up your time to stay in the
creative flow simply makes your life more enjoyable. And
you create more success for yourself at the same time. You

how to create your own time freedom and internet automation
plan by visiting this link.
