Four Fearless Predictions For 2012
December 29th, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips, Internet Business Tips. Tags: 2012, build your business, free training, sales
It’s not quite the new year yet…
…but I wanted to get you my fearless predictions
as soon as possible so you can start moving on them
before anybody else does.
From where I sit “behind the scenes” I’ve seen some
really big changes this year. One of the biggest changes
is how the game has changed for selling high priced
items over the Internet.
Time was when you could put up a quality sales letter
or even a video sales letter and convert people at a
2 to 3% rate. And you can still do that for lower priced
items.
For the higher priced stuff – the really big ticket items
that you can really build your business around – the
game has changed. (I’ll tell you more about that in
a minute…)
With all the moving parts going on in your business,
there are four areas that are changing quickly that you
absolutely should know about so that you’re on top
of the game going into the turning point year of 2012.
First, if you don’t have a Wordpress component
to your Website, you’re probably missing out on the
ease of use, the free traffic, and the other many benefits
of using the Wordpress platform. But you also have to make
sure to keep your site backed up so that you are protected
from hackers and other threats. Here’s how you can.
Next, whether you’re dipping your toe in the water and
adding an online component to your marketing, or you’re
an experienced marketer who is continuing to build on
your past successes, you want to make sure you have a
copy of 21 Ways To Create A Sales Stampede On The Internet
in your success library.
Third, traffic to your website is king, like always.
Traditional businesses who are smart will be investing heavily
in their Local Search Engine Optimization to get the free,
measurable traffic from Google rather than the expensive,
unmeasured Yellow Pages traffic of years past.
And online businesses who are tired of overpaying for Facebook
and Google Adwords Pay Per Click will be smartly looking at
generating free traffic through the high ROI of Search Engine
Optimization and other channels. Ranking at the top of Google
is still very much in style going into 2012.
Finally, for the higher priced stuff – the really big ticket items
that you can really build your business around – the
game has changed completely. No longer will an automated
video sales letter work to sell that high ticket item.
Smart marketers are really working with the webinar, and
moving the “free line” back by offering a ton of value up front
so that you can really get off on the right foot with your customers.
It’s a powerful trend and a game changer going into 2012.
Really it reminds me of the teleseminar explosion of the mid 2000s…
except it’s bigger, and you can deliver more value and close more
sales.
A few weeks ago I held my own training webinar that you
might have been on…but there were way too many people
who wrote me and said they missed out on this incredible
training. So to get started on the right track in 2012,
set aside an hour with me in the next couple days and grab
pen and paper to take notes while you’re viewing experiencing
the replay of this incredible free training program where you
get a peek behind the scenes of how your business and life will
be transformed for the better this year.

Resolutions are for ninny muggins
December 27th, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips, entrepreneurship. Tags: 2012, North Pole, Real Goals, Wally
Our family just got done watching “Elf” the Will Farrell movie
where he grows up in the North Pole but nobody tells him he’s
a human, not an elf.
When he finally decides to leave the North Pole to mix with the
humans he is obviously way out of his element, and definitely very
naïve to the ways of the world.
At one point in the movie, he remembers back in the old days
when somebody insulted him, and they called him a “cotton
headed ninny muggins”.
Not sure what that word means, but it sounds pretty mean for an elf.
This time of year a lot of people always talk about new years
resolutions, and I think that they’re ridiculous. If you’ve ever
been a “gym rat”, then you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Back in my gym rat days, I noticed in late December, you’re in the
gym working out and the place is practically empty. Everyone is
either fattening up on food or off on vacation somewhere.
Then the bell rings and January 1st comes along and the place is
packed. You’re waiting for machines, you’re waiting for a pad to
do some situps on…the list goes on.
This is just one example. But as far as I’m concerned, resolutions
are for ninny muggins.
Here’s why. A resolution doesn’t have any power behind it.
A resolution is almost like a passive “man, I wish I could
accomplish that…sigh.”
The proof of this is in the pudding – how many people do you know
who actually kept their resolutions? That’s what I thought.
That’s why the gym is empty come next December.
So I say toss out the resolutions. Be done with the way of the
ninny muggins.
Set GOALS.
Real Goals. Something that you can measure and that can excite
and charge you up.
Be careful to make them realistic. But don’t be afraid to stretch
either.
Goals excite you. Goals charge you up. Goals can be imported
into your brain as future memories so that you are moving towards
them even when you sleep.
Goals are truly powerful and are what seperates champions from also
rans. Resolutions are for the ninny muggins of the world.
Goals are for the winners, and that’s why you’re here.
Be a winner in 2012. This will get you there faster:

They only work once a week
December 19th, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips, Internet Business Tips. Tags: 2012, work once a week
This morning I was out in the cold walking the dog, and as we were
headed home, a large trash truck was barreling down the road
backwards with a guy on the back guiding the driver to ensure
that he didn’t hit anything.
For some reason, it triggered a memory that I had of being a
little boy – maybe five years old, and watching the trash man
do his dirty work while sitting on the front step of our house.
After watching the guy come and go only once a week for a few weeks,
I turned to my mother and said confidently, “When I grow up, I want
to be a trash man.”
“Why?” She asked.
“Because they only work once a week!”
As far as I knew, the trash man came once a week and that was the
only day of the week he worked. He made it look easy and I thought
that I wanted to be that guy.
Little did I know about the other 4 days of the week that he was
working, or how the trash man had to make up his holiday hours
and come home smelly and filthy.
All I knew was what little I saw from the front porch.
That’s how it works a lot of times. The really good ones make it
look easy.
The guys who have spent years behind the scenes, putting in their
practice reps, investing in their education, investing in their
business to grow – by the time you come across them you think,
“Man, that looks easy as can be. I want to do that too…”
And thinking that way can be a trap. There really is no way to
get to the top of your game without investing time, energy and
resources into becoming better.
Investing in your own growth is the most important investment
you’ll ever make.
As we begin to finish up 2011, it’s important to start thinking
about how you’d like to grow in 2012.

action. That’s what smart entrepreneurs like you have done when

Do what you do best…
December 1st, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips, Internet Marketing. Tags: leverage, outsourcing
Yesterday I promised to show you how to use massive amounts of
leverage to your advantage so that you can get more of your time
back and ramp up your business to a whole new level.
It all starts with a little saying. And it goes like this:
“Do what you do best…and hire out the rest.”
Easier said than done, right?
Well, it’s easy to do when you see somebody do it first.
I would like to introduce you to a good friend of mine Daven
Michaels, CEO of 123Employee, one of the premier outsourcing
services in the Philippines. Daven has turned multiple passions
into multi-million dollar businesses and today he runs his
multi-million dollar outsourcing business and manages nearly
400 employees… from his laptop and cell phone!
We met about a year ago, and I was immediately impressed.
Here’s a guy who is flying around the world and barely checking
his email – yet had his business running smooth and growing at
a rapid pace. Now that’s somebody to listen to, I thought…
and so I grabbed a copy of his program.
Then just the other day Daven sent me an email letting me know
about an event that he’s having this weekend – where you can
spend 3 days with me, Daven, and his master team as they help
you create a blueprint for your new wealth and freedom lifestyle…

You can join me, and Daven Michaels as a VIP guest for
‘Outsource Live!’ via a special LiveCast right from your
desk, couch, or bedroom, and he will reveal what really
goes on to run this type of business, from operations to
marketing, and how to APPLY these systems to your business.
Daven will also introduce you to his master team; the very people
who have helped him make millions of dollars. He will reveal the
insider secrets that have helped him stay ahead of the pack,
and how you can use the same strategies for your business.

Henry Ford and a thing called gumption
November 30th, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips, Traffic Driving. Tags: gumption, Traffic Driving
The other day a good friend of mine wrote me and was frustrated
because as he put it, “people today just don’t get it. They’re out
there protesting in the streets instead of getting to work. The
secret to success hasn’t ever changed. Get a good idea of how to
solve some people’s problems and then get to work doing it!”
When he said this, I could sense his frustration.
After all, he’s a self made man who has seen times of plenty and
times of scarcity, and through it all made sure that his business
was making it.
The reason why he’s made it when so many others haven’t, is because
he kept on working. When times were good, he kept on going. When
times were tough, he kept on going.
In the old days it was called “gumption”.
It reminded me of a quote that I came across a little while back,
from a guy who had a lot of gumption.
Old Henry Ford.
Henry Ford said… “The man who will use his skill and constructive imagination to see how much he can give for a dollar,
instead of how little he can give for a dollar, is bound to
succeed. ”
Now that’s the truth.
The more you can give in value in exchange for the dollars you’re
receiving, the more success you’ll have.
Which reminds me… Tomorrow I’m going to let you know about way
that you can rapidly increase your success by doing what the “big
guys” do.
It’s going to be all about leverage, and I’ll show you one powerful
way you can get it for yourself to really ramp things up next year.

More Life Lessons You Won’t Get In Business School
November 8th, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips, Direct Marketing, Sales Tips. Tags: eliminate your competition
Today I promised to reveal something amazing to you.
And I’m going to, in just a couple seconds. First, you should know
that you could be in trouble. Here’s why…
It’s a shocking statistic. When I heard it, I almost fell out of
my seat.
Over 90% of businesses are going to be gone in the next five years.
That’s not something that I’m pulling out of a hat. It’s
something that the SBA is talking about, and it has some business
owners worried.
You shouldn’t be though.
Even though times are tough for a lot of folks out there, there’s
another side to the coin that you have to take into consideration.
Right now, as you read this, your competition is waving the white
flag. They are probably on the brink of giving up. People are
tired and stressed out, and that makes them want to give in.
Not you though. You’re with me because you believe in creating
your own opportunities and pushing through, and it all starts with
your mindset.
Having the right mindset creates the right action. And the right
action creates the right results.
I’m excited for the next year, because when times get tough for
folks who are going to give up, the opportunities for people like
you and I just get even better. It’s not always easy, but it’s
better than the alternative.
Here’s something exciting that’s coming up to make sure you’re not
just another statistic.
On November 15, for the first time, I’m holding a special training
webinar where I’ll show you how to grow your business using the
Internet, eliminate your competition, and thrive no matter what
the economy is doing.
These are the keys to you taking control and crushing it while
your competition is waving the white flag.
Here are the details:

webinar and I’ll show you exactly how I helped them, and how you
can achieve those types of results too:

Snakes and crickets
October 1st, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips. Tags: nature, wisdom
It’s another beautiful autumn day here in Colorado, and this time of
year is amazing because the leaves begin to change color into gold
and the sky becomes an amazing, clear shade of dark blue.
A few days ago my wife Melinda called me up and said that she had
discovered a potentially explosive situation. Literally.
Yours truly had left town to do some business travel and had
accidentally forgotten to turn the gas off on the grill.
For multiple days the gas was slowly leaking into the grill, and
luckily nobody walked by smoking a cigar or anything.
The other thing she noticed when she discovered this explosion
waiting to happen, was that the grill cover had been left on the
ground. Again, somebody (ahem) had forgotten to finish putting
their toys away.
This is the good part though.
Underneath the grill cover she found 3 snakes coiled up and a bunch
of crickets.
The snakes were staying warm under the cover, and had all the food
they needed to get fat before the winter comes.
It happens again and again, and it never ceases to amaze me.
Nature always shows us the answers, and they are usually simple and
profound.
Snakes and crickets. Snakes needed to eat, and they found their
ideal place to stay safe – the same place where the crickets were
hanging out.
It’s the same in your business.
Right now, your buyers are busy looking for you and wanting to buy
from you. They’re ready to surround you just like the crickets
surrounded the snakes, and feed your business.
But if you’ve not placed yourself in the right spot, then you’ll be
out of luck.
In Chapters 1, 2, and 3 of 21 Ways To Create A Sales Stampede On The
Internet I cover how you can be like the snakes under the grill
cover, and place yourself in the perfect spot, with no competition
whatsoever.
When you are strugging to make a sale or having a slow period in
your business, that’s an indicator that you’re not applying these
strategies.
When you do, you’ll find that you’ve taken the most powerful action
you can to setup yourself for long term success.

same way that we do in the west. In fact, the snake is often looked

the way…

How to stop attracting people who drain your energy
September 6th, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips, Direct Response. Tags: abundance, inner economy
Just got off the phone with a nice lady who was
looking for some help with her website. She had
made the classic rookie mistake of downloading
a seemingly “cheap” template and installing it
herself, only to find out that all sorts of
hidden landmines awaited her.
She couldn’t update her own website even though
that was her initial goal, and what she had been
promised by the template people.
Her presence on the internet looked amateurish
beyond belief because the layout of the site was
all messed up.
…and worst of all, she wasn’t sure what to do
to fix the problems.
When we talked about what was going on, I made a
few suggestions about how she could proceed,
and begin focusing on what really matters…
her marketing.
Here’s the kicker though.
During our conversation, she talked about how she
was pretty happy with a local “pretty design”
firm who had given her a quote to re-create the
site from scratch.
And I listened as she talked about what a great
fit this company was for her.
Then we discussed some of the ways that I’ve
helped folks in the past. Everything from high
converting website design to automated online
marketing.
And guess what we discovered after talking?
That she was a better fit for the “pretty design”
firm. She wasn’t ready for direct response
marketing and design – she was still living in a
clouded place where image and brochures live.
That’s not what I’m about, so I gave her my full
recommendation to go with the other place –
somebody that I’ve never seen, or heard of until
today.
Seems kinda strange, doesn’t it? Why give a
bunch of business over to your so-called
competition?
Here’s why.
This lady and I weren’t a good fit to work
together. She had already found someone else.
Why fight the tide.
A few years ago, when I was caught in a place of
fear and limited thinking, there was no way that
I would have given my full blessing for somebody
to go with a “graphic design firm”.
I would have fought tooth and nail to keep this
lady on my side, even though she clearly wasn’t
ready or a good fit. And I certainly wouldn’t
have encouraged her to go over to another place.
Over the years, I’ve found out that fighting gets
you knowhere. It’s not the way to go.
And when I discovered the secret of how to change
from the inside, so that your results on the
outside are abundant and flowing, everything
changed.
In my book 21 Ways To Create A Sales Stampede On
The Internet, I go into great detail about this
simple change that you can make too, on page 21.
The simple change that creates abundance and
flowing thinking, instead of limited scarcity
thinking…and increases your results.
NOTE: If you already own a copy of 21 Ways To
Create A Sales Stampede On The Internet, I highly
recommend you re-read page 21 and all of Chapter 3…
Once you learn these secrets about how to align
yourself in the way discussed on page 21, there
is no limit to the results you can create.
And the best part is it’s less stressful and
more effective, and people are happier to be
around you too.

PS – Chapter 3 in 21 Ways to Create a Sales
Stampede on the Internet has so much to offer…
and by far the best part is the secret to only
working with people you want to. How many times
have you worked with people that sucked and
drained your energy?
Here’s how you can eliminate that from your life:

How to be indispensible and powerful

“For 150 years, the key structural element of our society was that people who owned machines, the means of production, had all the power. But the means of production is now a laptop. I’m not saying that everyone needs to be an entrepreneur. What I’m saying is that the winners are the ones who are indispensable. How do you become indispensable? You do something unique with systems that belong to you as opposed to being a slave to somebody else’s system.”

Getting schooled on price elasticity at the Mexican tienda
July 12th, 2011. Filed Under: Business, Business Tips, Internet Success. Tags: Business, competitive environment, internet sales success, Internet Success, Mexican Coke, price elasticity
A couple of weeks ago I took my car into the tire shop to
get the tires rotated. Not wanting to sit around and
smell rubber for an hour, I decided to start walking
around and see what other shops were nearby.
After checking out some of the local options, I found a
Mexican tienda and decided to go in and see if they had
any Mexican Coca Cola.
This place was great, it was like taking a trip down south
of the border. Nobody in there spoke any English, and
there were all sorts of genuine Mexican imports with brand
names that I didn’t recognize.
And sure enough…right there in the cooler, was Mexican
Coca Cola.
I don’t usually drink soft drinks, but Mexican Coke is the
exception. It’s like Coke used to be in the old days in
America – served in a glass bottle and made with real
sugar from sugar cane, not corn syrup. It has a bit of a
different feel on the tongue and takes me back to the old
days.
So I grabbed a Mexican Coke and an orange Fanta bottle out
of the cooler and headed over to the counter.
And then…I didn’t realize it at the time…I was about
to get a street style business lesson from the lady behind
the counter.
I approached the counter and realized that there had been
no price tags on the bottles. Hmmm, I wonder how much
these things cost.
So I held up one bottle and asked, “how much for a
Coke?”. She said one dollar.
Then I put two bottles down to pay.
She looks at me and says “Two bottles. Three dollar.”
I smiled and chuckled to myself, thinking “Now that is
some serious price elasticity.”
It was awesome.
And though I could have haggled with her to get the price
back down to two dollars, I was so impressed by this deft
maneuver that I just handed her the three dollars and
smiled.
This old lady had sent a great reminder about how prices
can be set and changed on the fly – according to demand
and perception – but only if you’ve set yourself up right
beforehand.
She had a sucker (me) thirsty for some hard to find
Mexican Coke…and she raised that price right away, once
she knew. And I didn’t complain at all. I was happy to
pay.
In today’s competitive environment, you have to stay agile
in your business so that you can pounce on your own
opportunities. It’s important that you take advantage of
the natural price elasticity that happens every day so
that you get paid what you are worth when you’re
delivering your goods or services.
When you have someone who is thirsty for what you’ve got,
don’t hesitate to charge what you deserve and make everyone
happy in the process.
Go get ‘em.
