What this famous teenager’s 13th birthday means for you

September 27th, 2011. Filed Under: SEO, Search Engine Optimization. Tags: , ,

Today is a famous teenager’s 13th birthday.  And like any good
teenager, this teenager has been busy disrupting things.

You might have heard of this teenager.  This teenager’s name
is Google.

It used to be that you could put a targeted ad in the Yellow Pages
and then your phone would start ringing off the hook.  Long time
readers of this newsletter know those days are gone, as Google the
disruptive teenager has taken the flow of business away from
traditional marketing outlets like the Yellow Pages for almost a
decade now.

Maybe you don’t believe me.

Well, last time I checked even the Yellow Pages is trying to sell
you something other than an ad in the phone book.

Combine this with the disruptive factors of social media and
there’s a good chance that your business is literally invisible on
the Internet.

And being invisible in today’s ADD world means that you’re in
trouble.

People are onto the next big thing before you know it, averaging
under 7 seconds per website visit and whatever they’re searching
for, they’re likely finding your competitors right in the sweet
spot known as page one of Google.

This means that people who should be coming to your website, and
through your doors are going over to the other guys’ place
instead.  That’s bad news.

Luckily there’s a solution to this.

For the last couple years, I’ve had a select group of individuals
who’ve worked with me to go from invisible on the Internet to
squatting on top of page 1 of Google.

One business literally went from ready to shut the doors and over
a hundred thousand dollars in debt to selling so much that they
have their products on back order in less than 12 months.  That is
the power of being on page 1.

It can literally change everything for you.

There are a lot of secrets to getting a business to page 1 -
especially if you’re in a competitive market.   A lot of these
secrets I’ve been sharing with you over the years…and the good
news is you’re in the right place, because I’m happy to share
these secrets in an even more in depth fashion with a select few
action takers who are ready to start crushing their competition.

In fact, you can simply go to Google right now and start buying
AdWords… and rank on top of your competition in the same time it
takes to read this email.  That’s not always a bad plan, however
it is definitely the “quick fix” to a long term problem.

The smarter way to go is to take a longer term approach so that you
rank number 1 day in and day out, in perpetuity.

It’s actually an opportunity that exists for most businesses, and
you can determine pretty quickly if you’re able to rank on number
one within a couple days.

Here’s how you can determine before the end of this week if you
can start squatting on top of Google and crush your competition:
http://wallythewebguy.com/services/search-engine-optimization.html

It’s not for everyone, only those who are ready and willing to get
a steady flow of new visitors and sales from their website.

Hopefully that’s you today, and every day.

Here’s to getting found and crushing it,
-Wally

PS – “We had just rolled out a great new site design, and we were
really excited about all the traffic that was going to come and
see it.  Only there was one problem – Google had stopped indexing
us!  We had tried to search optimize our site, and Google thought
we were spammers.

We tried for months and couldn’t figure out what was happening to
our site.  Luckily, we knew there was one guy out there who could
help us.  Our good buddy Jason Waldron – “Wally the Web Guy”.  We
gave him a call. After following his recommendations, Google was
indexing us within a week, the traffic started flowing in.  We
haven’t looked back since!”

Software developer gets a kick in the butt

September 22nd, 2011. Filed Under: Internet Marketing, Testimonials. Tags: ,

There has been a lot of buzz going on surrounding 21 Ways To
Create A Sales Stampede On The Internet.  The really great thing
is that no matter your industry or your niche, there are ways you
can take your business to the next level.

Yesterday my friend Frank wrote in to say some kind words…

“It was great to meet you at the recent JVAlert Internet Marketing
Conference.   I read your book on the way home on the plane, and I
really liked it a lot!  I’ve been on the Internet making very good
money for many years now.  We used to run a search engine
optimization company, and between my sons and I we’ve built MANY
websites.  I know most of the things you talked about, but knowing
and doing are two different things…  I’ve grown complacent and
your book reminded me all over again of the things that I SHOULD
be doing, and don’t really do as much as I should.  The book was a
kick in the butt for me to go back to the things that we all know
work, and JUST DO IT.

I’d recommend your book to ANYONE involved in pretty much any
business, either online or offline.  They’ll make a LOT more
money if they read your book and follow your suggestions.

GREAT JOB WALLY

Software Developer

Wally:  Thanks Frank, it was great meeting you too.

Getting such high praise from a long time successful Internet
Marketer like you is a great compliment, and I’m looking forward
to seeing you get even more great results from the book.

Here’s how YOU can join Frank in creating your own sales stampede:

Who to listen to and who to ignore

September 19th, 2011. Filed Under: Internet Success, entrepreneurship. Tags: , , , ,

On the surface, today’s message might seem a little harsh.  But today’s message is super important if you want to leave behind the dark shackles of previous failure, and step into the sunshine of success.

In business, there are only two types of advice you will receive.

The stuff you listen to.  And the stuff you ignore.

And let me tell you, the stuff you should ignore is a much longer list than the stuff you should listen to.

Here’s how one of my mentors put it:

Ignore friends.  Ignore family.  Ignore teachers.  They are all well meaning.

When it comes to success, you must listen only to people who are more successful than you are.  Those who have been there, and done that.  That’s it.

Now, you might not be comfortable with that.  Let me assure you, that is a good sign.  We have to stretch and be uncomfortable to become more successful.

Here’s another truth:

Everybody WANTS to be successful.

Nobody wants to be a failure.  At least not according to their talk.  But talk is cheap.  Action speaks volumes.

I’m not messing around today.

Here’s the truth.  Getting what you deserve takes work.

Getting what you deserve takes practice.

Getting what you deserve takes sacrifice.  And it takes discipline.

Sometimes it is uncomfortable.  No, often times it is uncomfortable.  But it is always worth it.

To be successful in an area where you are not currently, it also takes humility.  Humility to admit that you can be helped by the right information, that the right information will come at a price, and most importantly – that it will increase your success.

In my business life, I only listen to people who have been there, and done that.   And I’m not afraid to invest in my own development with people who have been there, and done that, because it always pays off in multiples.  And because I want the best for you, I want you to do the same.

That’s why today I’m offering you a chance to join the Internet Sales Success coaching program.

Because I’ve been there, and done that.  And now I’m running a business that lets me live wherever I want and live the life that I could only dream of for so many years.  You can do it too.

All you have to do to get the success YOU deserve is follow in my footsteps:

http://wallythewebguy.com/coaching/

It’s easier than you think, once you listen to the right people.

To getting the success you deserve,

-Wally

P.S. – Walking the walk is tough sometimes, especially if you’re surrounded by failures.  Ignore the failures, and listen to those who can help.  Only those who have been there and done that can help.  Here’s how to make sure that you’re one of the successful people who is taking your business (and life) to the next level:

If what I am doing is right, why don’t I have more money?

September 14th, 2011. Filed Under: Internet Success. Tags: , , ,

The other day I received a message that really struck a nerve with
me, and I think it will you too.  Obviously frustrated, this lady
wrote in and said, “If what I am doing is right, why don’t I have
more money?”

This is a loaded question, but it’s an important one to answer.

Step back a moment and think about what happens when you’re
growing up.

First, if you’re in a positive environment, when you’re a small
child and through the first years of school all you hear is “you
can be anything you want to be”.  “Someday if you want to be an
astronaut, you can do it.  Just work hard and stay focused on
the goals.”

Then as time goes on you hear “Follow your dreams”.

Do you want to be a professional football player?  Great.  Just
“work hard and stay focused on your goals”.

And for awhile, people seem to continue to tell you that you can be
anything you want to be.

Or maybe you grew up in a negative environment.  So all you heard
what “you’ll never amount to anything.” Or stuff like “people in our
family just aren’t that smart”.

Either way, you probably internalized some of this stuff and believed
it to be the truth – whether or not actual experience bore it out.

Something else funny happens along the way.

In my own experience, I remember graduating from high school, and
I was surrounded by the “follow your dreams” and “you can do anything
you want” types of encouragement.  And it seemed to be a great thing.

But really quickly, something switched.  Because now you’re an adult.  Now you’re expected to “make something of yourself”.  And that’s where the “put your head down and find some gainful employment” bug can start to rear its ugly head.

Just a short time after seeing the same people who were saying
“follow your dreams” and “you can do anything you want” when I
was a kid, now they were saying “what are you going to do”
which really meant “what type of job are you going to get”.

It was really weird.

Gone was the talk of “doing whatever you wanted in life” and it was
replaced with “go get a job”.

Here were the same people who had encouraged a younger version of
myself to do anything in life, now caught in their own mediocre
worlds, encouraging an older version of myself to join them in
their unhappy existence “doing their job”.

Really weird, and it could have been disheartening…

Yet this is at the essence of “If what I am doing is right, why
don’t I have more money?”

It’s a complicated answer, but I’ll do my best to answer it now.

The answer is not because you don’t have any value.  Each of us has
tremendous value.

The answer is not because you’re doing the wrong thing.  You’re
doing some things right.  We all are.

And the answer is not to give up and stop following your heart.

The reason you don’t have any more money is because nobody shows
you how to combine “doing what you love” with “creating a profitable
business”.  There is a really poisonous attitude out there that
you should work hard even if you hate it – every day, every
night – and then put your work aside the rest of the time and
enjoy what’s left of your life.

That’s a recipe for disaster.  I know.  I lived it for 7 years.

And here’s the problem with that.  When you spend a huge portion
of your life living it in a box that you’re committed to putting
away and forgetting when you “leave the office to live your real
life” it gives you license to be a total jerk or even a liar at
work, because “hey, that’s just business” or “gotta get this deal
done, family’s gotta eat”.

That doesn’t work.  Because when you’re spending most of your
waking hours not really living, and in fact running from who you
really are, you’re setting yourself up for major disaster.

You’re setting yourself up for a major existential breakdown of
epic proportions.

Ultimately, it’s just nature’s way of bringing balance back into
the universe.

And nature always comes back to balance eventually.

So the answer is to seek alignment.  Seek harmony with doing the
right thing, and also applying the skills of creating value to get
your message out to the right people.  This is done by surrounding
yourself with others who are willing to support you in doing the
right thing.

By seeking and attaining alignment, you’re moving with nature,
and evolving into the person you are supposed to be.  That’s what
it’s all about.

Recently I have been asked by many of you if there is a way that
you can attain your alignment with your purpose and also build
it into a profitable business.  There is.

Now you can surround yourself in a supportive environment that
also ensures you grow profitably in both wallet and spirit.

It’s called the Internet Sales Success coaching program, and you
can discover more about it here:
http://wallythewebguy.com/coaching/

Dedicated to your success,
-Wally

PS – I’ve heard the call and have been secretly working on a really
amazing program that a select few have been a part of over the
last 9 months…and now I’m going public with it.

How to stop attracting people who drain your energy

September 6th, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips, Direct Response. Tags: ,

Just got off the phone with a nice lady who was
looking for some help with her website.  She had
made the classic rookie mistake of downloading
a seemingly “cheap” template and installing it
herself, only to find out that all sorts of
hidden landmines awaited her.

She couldn’t update her own website even though
that was her initial goal, and what she had been
promised by the template people.

Her presence on the internet looked amateurish
beyond belief because the layout of the site was
all messed up.

…and worst of all, she wasn’t sure what to do
to fix the problems.

When we talked about what was going on, I made a
few suggestions about how she could proceed,
and begin focusing on what really matters…
her marketing.

Here’s the kicker though.

During our conversation, she talked about how she
was pretty happy with a local “pretty design”
firm who had given her a quote to re-create the
site from scratch.

And I listened as she talked about what a great
fit this company was for her.

Then we discussed some of the ways that I’ve
helped folks in the past.  Everything from high
converting website design to automated online
marketing.

And guess what we discovered after talking?

That she was a better fit for the “pretty design”
firm.  She wasn’t ready for direct response
marketing and design – she was still living in a
clouded place where image and brochures live.

That’s not what I’m about, so I gave her my full
recommendation to go with the other place –
somebody that I’ve never seen, or heard of until
today.

Seems kinda strange, doesn’t it?  Why give a
bunch of business over to your so-called
competition?

Here’s why.

This lady and I weren’t a good fit to work
together.  She had already found someone else.

Why fight the tide.

A few years ago, when I was caught in a place of
fear and limited thinking, there was no way that
I would have given my full blessing for somebody
to go with a “graphic design firm”.

I would have fought tooth and nail to keep this
lady on my side, even though she clearly wasn’t
ready or a good fit.  And I certainly wouldn’t
have encouraged her to go over to another place.

Over the years, I’ve found out that fighting gets
you knowhere.  It’s not the way to go.

And when I discovered the secret of how to change
from the inside, so that your results on the
outside are abundant and flowing, everything
changed.

In my book 21 Ways To Create A Sales Stampede On
The Internet, I go into great detail about this
simple change that you can make too, on page 21.

The simple change that creates abundance and
flowing thinking, instead of limited scarcity
thinking…and increases your results.

NOTE: If you already own a copy of 21 Ways To
Create A Sales Stampede On The Internet, I highly
recommend you re-read page 21 and all of Chapter 3…

Once you learn these secrets about how to align
yourself in the way discussed on page 21, there
is no limit to the results you can create.

And the best part is it’s less stressful and
more effective, and people are happier to be
around you too.

PS – Chapter 3 in 21 Ways to Create a Sales
Stampede on the Internet has so much to offer…
and by far the best part is the secret to only
working with people you want to. How many times
have you worked with people that sucked and
drained your energy?
Here’s how you can eliminate that from your life:

hoping that you are too.

Labor day is always a little bittersweet, as the summer

it’s always fun to spend a little extra time doing whatever
you like to do and a lot of times that means getting to
hang out with some family and making memories.

There’s a lot of different types of wealth – but only one

Steve Jobs Steps Down As Apple CEO

August 25th, 2011. Filed Under: Business. Tags: , , ,

End of an era as Steve Jobs steps down as Apple’s CEO…here’s a quote from Steve himself:

“Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking…Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And, most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.”

- Steve Jobs at Stanford University commencement speech in 2005.

Wally:  Steve, your contribution to people’s lives is incredible, and you will be missed.  Thanks for everything that you’ve done to improve the world of computing, by creating a machine that supports and unlocks people’s creativity instead of getting in their way.

How to be indispensible and powerful

August 19th, 2011. Filed Under: Business Tips. Tags: , ,

“For 150 years, the key structural element of our society was that people who owned machines, the means of production, had all the power. But the means of production is now a laptop. I’m not saying that everyone needs to be an entrepreneur. What I’m saying is that the winners are the ones who are indispensable. How do you become indispensable? You do something unique with systems that belong to you as opposed to being a slave to somebody else’s system.”

- Seth Godin

Power used to be the machines you owned; now it’s your ideas.  Here’s how you can share your ideas with the world and reach more people than you ever imagined.
