A Few Seconds of Panic

November 11th, 2008

This weekend I spent a lot of time reading a new book called “A
Few Seconds Of Panic” by a guy named Stefan Fatsis.

As a 43 year old writer, he trained to become an NFL kicker, and
actually ended up getting to go through training camp with my
favorite team – the Denver Broncos.

It’s a fun adventure and an easy read, with a lot of funny
stories about him getting hazed by the “real” players.  And the
pictures of Stefan next to the big football players makes him
look like a little kid.  So that’s pretty amusing too.

The pressure put on a kicker in a football game is incredible.

There are thousands of people watching you, and you have only a
few seconds to perform and be the hero – or miss the kick – and
be a zero.  In the book he talks about how there are lots of
guys in the world who have the athletic skills to play in the
pressure cooker of the NFL, but only a select few make it,
because only a select few can get their head straight.

Makes sense to me.

If you aren’t prepared mentally, there’s no way you can be
prepared to perform on the field.  Same thing goes with your
website.  If you aren’t prepared to keep a visitor there -
they’re going to leave.

How to prevent that here.

Get the right know how and you’ll be sure to split the
uprights every time.

As the referee says, “It’s good!”

Reach for the top,
-Wally

P.S. –  The lucky few who have heard these secrets are already
using them in their business.
Get them yourself.
