You can’t lose if you follow nature

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Last night I fell asleep in my wife Melinda’s studio, while
reading a book about the Chinese study of “li”.  Li is a term
for the study of the patterns in nature that reoccur at
different levels in both the physical and energy worlds.  We
don’t really have a word for it in English.

Stuff like this really fascinates me.

For instance, have you ever noticed how a spiral galaxy is the
same shape as a small snail shell?  Or how the branching of a
tree matches the branching of the neurons in your brain?

Patterns repeat themselves in nature at all levels, grand and
small.  The more you begin to notice them, the more you will see.

Lightning branches off much like a tree – for a split second.

A beehive is full of hexagons, and the bees in their hive act
much like cells in a body.  The same patterns, repeated in very
different scenes.

If you are able to crack the code, an underlying understanding
develops.

Did you know that there is also a reading pattern that people
follow on the web?

We can track eyeballs and what they look at when they visit a
website.  And what we’ve learned is that they follow an
“F-shaped” reading pattern.  That is why the best websites have
their navigation on the left hand, on top, or both.  It’s where
people are looking.

The best way to get sales is to already be where people are looking.

All of my websites are built in accordance with nature, so you
know that your visitors get into the flow you want, and you get
the results you need.  To learn more, visit:

night was a pattern from the book I was reading.  Can you

The only rules you’ll ever need

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

I am sitting here it’s 1:31 am in Tampa, typing on my laptop
computer in front of a hotel desk.  I’m visiting Florida for a
few days to take part in some coaching, learning all sorts of
secrets from a guy who calls himself a zen master.

Up until today, I wasn’t really sure what a zen master was.
But now I do.

He started off the day dressed in a purple silk suit, with
sleeves that were down over his hands.  He explained that in
China, the Taoist monks often wear their sleeves this way to
ensure that you can’t see what they’re doing with their hands
and body.

Then he showed us some deep breathing exercises that help
focus the mind.

Then later, the room was held spellbound, as he did healing
work on a guy by releasing years of bad energy from him.

He stepped on his back, he stretched his back up like a cobra,
then he had him sit Indian style while he picked him up and
cracked his back around.  After moving him every way
imaginable, the zen master even smacked him a few times.

Did I mention that this is a business seminar?

Let me assure you, the last couple days of learning have been
great.  I’ve learned tons of new information that I will be
offering to you in the near future, and I just wanted to be
sure to share my excitement while the words and thinking were
fresh.

Before I sign of for some much needed sleep, I wanted to offer
you something simple, but valuable.  In the spirit of the zen
master, here are the only two rules you will ever need to
follow to ensure YOUR success on the web:

Rule #1:  Your website has to make you money.
Rule #2:  See rule number one.

I hope I made you smile with that one.

P.S. — Most web designers are breaking all the rules.  The
only way to follow the rules is to know them.  Here’s where
to go

So freaking hard core

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

I’m sitting here at the construction site that is my home office
right now, looking out of a brand new set of windows.  That
isn’t even the beginning though.

In front of the house is a port-o-john, and a large crane that
is lowering 13 foot diameter pipe sections way down into the
earth – building a better drainage system under the city.

During the workday, the house often shakes as if there was an
earthquake going on, as the workers pound a large piece of metal
far into the ground.  The metal acts as a wall that is holding
the dirt in place, to allow the workers some breathing room as
they piece together the largest pipe I’ve seen in my life.

As part of this adventure, Kyle, the guy who put the new windows
into the house today told me a crazy battle story from the old
days, which I had to pass onto you.

He was on a roof, working with his dad.  His dad was an ex-drill
sergeant, so needless to say, he is a little intense.  But very
focused.  Very hard working.

They’re moving right along, putting new shingles onto the roof.

They’re using nailguns to put in row after row of new material,
trying to beat the clock.  Then BAM.  The sergeant nails RIGHT
THROUGH his own foot.

A normal person would call it a day, head to the doctor.  Not
this guy.

He calls for his son “throw me the pry bar so I can get this
thing unstuck”.

He gets the nail out of his own foot, and then with a
combination of a McDonald’s napkin on either side of his foot
and a lot of duct tape, proceeds to put himself back together.

Kinda stops the bleeding, but definitely finishes the roof.

The next day, his foot is swollen and gigantic from the trauma.
He finally goes to the doctor, and gets the help he deserves.

Holy cow, now that is putting in a hard day at work.
