What to watch for in the BIG GAME

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

If you’re like me, or the millions of others who will be
watching the Super Bowl, oh, sorry, I meant “the Big Game” -
don’t want to pay a bunch of money to the NFL – you’re probably
at least a little bit excited about the commercials.

I hate to admit it, but a lot of times I’m watching as much for
the commercials as I am for the football.

One thing that I like to watch for interesting and unique
website addresses.

Last year, there were two or three commercials that left off in
the middle of the story, and proceeded to give you a web address
to visit to see the “rest of the story”.

I asked myself, why are they doing this?

Here’s the answer:  Measureability.  Ad agencies now are
realizing that you can’t track a return on investment very well
with a giant blast of advertising and some piddly Neilsen
ratings.  But you can track visits to a website really REALLY
well.

So what do they do?  They generate traffic with the Super Bowl,
um, Big Game advertisement, and then send you to the site to see
if it actually worked.

The beauty of being able to measure for results is that the
process is the same no matter if you have 100, 1000, or 1 million
visitors.  On the internet, the little guy is the big guy!

Stay tuned for more on this in the near future, as we launch an
outstanding product to help you use precise measurement of your
visitor traffic to cut through the BS like a surgeon – and get
REAL RESULTS out of your websites.

Oh, and enjoy the “BIG GAME” this Sunday.

Happy computing,

How I will avoid the Recession

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

This weekend I sat down with my parents for some Mexican food,
and we began discussing the big R – RECESSION!  Then I turned on
the radio today, and there it was again – RECESSION!

Enough already.

Here’s the truth about recessions.  They are like colds.  Only
some people get them.

Unlike the common cold, however, there is a cure for the common
recession.  Here is my personal homeopathic prescription to
avoiding the coming “R”:

1. Stay in touch with YOU
2. Listen to YOUR valuable feedback to help YOU improve
3. Focus on serving YOU, to help you reach your highest goals

Now you won’t hear that from the commentators on the radio, or on
Fox News.  In fact, you’re not going to hear it from almost
anyone, because most people don’t realize that a recession is
only in their mind.

The beauty of the recession remedy above is that you can apply it
to your business and life as well.

If we all do this – we all create more abundance in our lives and
leave the “big R” to some other folks.

A simple truth that I was taught a little while ago is that if
you help enough people get what they want, you can get anything
that you want.

So, I ask, what do you want?

Do you want to drive more traffic to your website?  I can help.
Do you want to bring in more sales with less effort?  I can help.
Do you want to completely avoid recession?  I can help!

Nothing makes me happier than seeing somebody grow their
business because of what they do on the web.

If you’re ready to grow, give me a call today.  The sooner you
start, the sooner you get your reward!

8 seconds to glory

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

I am not a cowboy or anything, but with the National Western
Stock show in town, I just had to wake up this morning and let
out a big:

YEEEEHAAWW!

One of the beauties of living in Colorado is being at the
crossroads of cowboy culture and internet culture.
Seems like half the people in Colorado are left over from the
old west, and the other half have moved in from California.

Well, this one today is for those cowboys and girls out there.

Did you know that visiting a website is a lot like riding a bull?
Think about it.

When you’re riding a bull you’re trying to stay on for 8 seconds.
When you own a website, your website is the bull, and your
visitor is the cowboy.

That cowboy has 7 seconds to decide to stick around.  YOU only
have 7 seconds to keep a visitor on your website.  Or else they
leave.  Simple as that.

Think about it.  You surf the web like you’re riding a bull.

When you visit a website, you might dart left and right, just
like the bullrider would.  You might rear, you might hit that
back button.

You might spin, you might kick, you might jump off.

It’s your job as the website owner to lasso that reader in, to
keep him there.

Well partner, you need to provide interesting content that you
update regularly.  You gotta make sure that you capture some
information from that person, so that you keep reminding them to
come back.  Finally, you best have compelling copy written on the
website.

If you don’t have any of these things, you’re visitors are going
to be bucked right off of your website.  What a bunch of BULL!

Get your website from someone who has you yelling GIDDY UP!
Yup, that’s us.

Happy Computing,
-Jason

know where to start?  Let’s start by talking about it!  Get in

How to have an Amazing 2008!

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

Over the last couple weeks, I’ve been blessed to spend time with
friends and family, and take a breather from the day-to-day
grind.

I hope you’ve been lucky enough to take a few days off as well.

If you’re anything like me, maybe you take this time to look back
on your accomplishments over the past year, say a moment of
thanks, look forward to next year, and what you’d like to
accomplish in 2008.

As you consider your network and website infrastructure in your
business, I hope you will take a moment to consider where you
are:

…an unpredictable break-fix model,
…a fairly predictable maintenance situation,
…or hopefully, you’ve moved to a Return on Invesment model,
and you’ll be focusing on how much more money you want to make
this year.

Regardless of where you fit in there, I’d like it if you’ll take
a moment, and consider what it will take to move you to the next
level up the food chain.

If you’re in contact only occasionally, when things break – think
for a moment, the ways you’d be better off if you had a
planned-for cost, with no surprises.

If you’re in a maintenance phase, think for a moment, how AWESOME
it would be if you didn’t have to pay for those services, because
you were using your infrastructure to make you more money.

And if you’re a SUPERSTAR, focusing on how much more money you’d
like to make this year, let’s sit down and imagine ways to double
your sales through the web.

Because I guarantee we can make it happen.

Let’s all think for a moment what a great year 2007 was, and how
much better 2008 is going to be!

I hope we can make it that way together.

If you’d like to imagine how to make your business better, and
talk about some actionable steps to take it to the next level,
please get in touch today.

-Wally

P.S. – Don’t forget – a great 2008 begins with you!  If you have

been putting off taking your business to the next level because
you just don’t know where to start, let’s start by talking.
